"Chasing Flavors" explores the different ways of preparing the most common Filipino staple food – rice. The show features the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) in Los Baños, Laguna and its world-class Rice Genebank. Chef Claude travels up north to discover the locally grown rice varieties in Baguio City and in the famous Banaue rice terraces in Ifugao. After an educational foodventure, he fills in his tummy with the sticky rice dishes of the Bicol region and of his hometown in Pampanga. To cap off the episode, chef Claude shows how to prepare his special black bringhe dish which was recognized during the 2016 Embassy Chef Challenge.

    The well-known Kapampangan chef, Chef Claude Tayag, will probe the origins of Filipino’s iconic dishes from region to region, one dish at a time, and will attempt to answer what makes each dish unique and outstanding in its own right.
